The Football Performance Center project will construct a new 72,000 gsf building to accommodate the football program at University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). The facility would comprise three levels and a basement. It would accommodate a weight room, coaches/staff lockers, and public lobby on the ground level; a cardio and stretching room on a mezzanine level; stepped auditoria, position training rooms, and players’ lounge on the second level; and offices for coaches, recruiting and administrative staff (and upper portion of an auditorium) on the third level. The basement would accommodate player’s lockers, an equipment room, and a hydrotherapy/training facility.
The building would accommodate approximately 120 football players and associated staff, including coaching, training, recruiting, equipment management, and administrative personnel. The ground level weight room would have a double-height ceiling and open access to the adjacent practice field. The mezzanine overlooking the weight room would provide a vantage point for the coaches to observe training sessions underway without interference. The entry lobby would be at the north end of the building proximate to other athletic training facilities. Service vehicle access would be from the Pauley service road.
